Using the tools

Most tools process inputs in your browser. Network and lookup tools may send a URL, IP address, or other input to our API or an outside provider. Each tool explains its data flow and the limits of its results. No account is required.

Sources & corrections

Reports link to supporting sources where available. Check the source, publication date, and update notes before relying on a claim. Allegations and a company's own claims should be read as such; an available link is not proof that a claim is correct.

For a correction, send the article URL, the passage that needs checking, and a supporting source. Substantive factual changes receive a dated update note.

Source-link availability record

This record checks whether links respond. Blocked requests and timeouts remain unresolved.

Common questions

Do the tools send my data to a server?

Most tools process inputs in your browser. Lookup tools may send information to this site’s API or an outside service. Read the tool’s data-flow label before entering information.

Do I need an account to use the tools?

No. Open a tool and use it without a login or paywall.

Where can I inspect this site’s headers?

The Site Headers page checks headers returned by this site. A header check describes configuration; it does not verify all security claims or certify an application as secure.
